Setting up the iK'motion picker tool

The iK'motion picker tool is used to define movie clip instances as part of an IK chain and to move them to affect other 'bones' in the chain. The picker tool ultimately winds up on the 'Tools' panel along with standard flash tools such as the 'Selection Tool' and 'Paint Bucket Tool'. After installing the mxp file using the extension manager, the IK picker tool is not automatically placed into the Tools panel however. This is done with a few simple steps in Flash:

Installing the iK'motion Picker Tool

  1. Go to Edit > Customize Tools Panel...
  2. From the table of tool icons on the left side of the dialog, select the tool that you would like to have the iK'motion picker tool appear underneath. A good choice might the white arrow (Subselection Tool).
  3. After clicking the icon, scroll to the bottom of 'Available Tools' and select the 'iK'motion Picker Tool'.
  4. Click the '>> Add >>' button.
  5. You should now see the iK'motion Picker Tool in the list under 'Current Selection'.
  6. Click OK.

The iK'motion Picker Tool successfully installed under the Subselection Tool.
